For the December "Let's Scrap" design team project, we were given the layout below:
Now, I didn't have a photo that was 9x6 (or even 8x10), so I used a 5x7 photo, and made a mat out of solid cardstock to take up the larger space. Since the photo had a lot of background (stone work), this worked well for my page.
I also re-interpreted the dainty swirls on the sketch to be some chipboard scrolls on my page (by Maya Road). This was fun to take the sketch, but really make it my own.
The journaling area is a wooden sign by Lil' Davis Designs, and I put a chipboard sticker over some wording on the sign. Make it your own by adding stickers, or stamped images!
My page is called "Daytona". Photos of me and my boyfriend at Daytona Beach, Florida in December 2006:
I also inked edges of the page and the chipboard. Cut and use the chipboard scrolls to fit ... you don't have to keep them the way they were made.
I used cork alphabet and numbers for the title and year. Cork made me think of summer or at least beach themes.
Mix alpha shapes if you don't have all the letters in one set, squares and circles were mixed here.
Showing the wooden sign from Lil' Davis Designs. I purchased it on clearance one day, and when I made this page, I knew I wanted to use it. The shape is not like the sketch, and I didn't really journal on it, but I usually make 2-page layouts, so I'll have to make the second page to coordinate with this and I'll journal on that.
Some new Prima flowers I got (the larger background flowers). They are printed and look like they were made from printed papers. To coordinate, the smaller flowers were white and I used ink to change the color to blue and a burgundy/red.
The blue printed strip on the page was taken from packaging of some Prima Marketing felt alphabets.
Since I've been making a lot of ATC's and INCHIES, I've been looking EVERYWHERE for inspiration and products to use.
